Immersion Heaters
Immersion Heaters
Whether you’re working with heating, water, oil, chemical or any one of a wide variety of liquids, the most efficient approach to heating is the use of Immersion Heaters. All of the heat generated by an Immersion unit is absorbed by the liquid in which the unit is immersed. There is no heat loss from the heating element.
Screw Plug Heaters
Screw Plug Heaters have a NPT plug with threads for permanent type installation. Screw plug heaters are mounted near the bottom of a tank and can be removed for cleaning or replacement. There are three basic sheath materials used in screw plug heaters. Copper is used for water, steel is used for oil or for liquids that do not cause rust or corrosion. SSTC, or Incoloy is for water or liquids that are corrosive. The heater watt densities are very conservative for long trouble free life. Copper units heating water can be 60 w/114 2 Incoloy units can also see w/d as high as 60 w/IN 2, and steel on the other hand should not exceed 20 w/IN 2 and even lower for some bulk oils.
